Budget Airlines:

Ryanair
-Now fly direct to Pula in Istria and Zadar -see above. The second option is Trieste airport ,just an hour away from Istria but expect a driving time to Split of around five hours. If heading this far south much better to head further south in Italy and catch a ferry.Ryanair to Ancona on the Italian east coast, then an overnight ferry to Split (and Vis,Hvar or Zadar) (cabins cost from £30 per person), or to Trieste and then hire a car.

Or.... alternative Italian airports with budget flights from the UK are Venice Marco Polo (Go BA from Stanstead, East Midlands, Bristol and Luton, www.go-fly.com) and Venice Treviso (Ryanair from Stanstead), both with an extra two hours driving time; Ancona (Ryanair from Stanstead), with ferry www.jadrolinija.hr , and hydrofoil www.miatours.hr links to both Zadar and Split ports; Pescara (Ryanair from Stanstead) a short drive away from Ancona.

Sky Europe
Whilst you cannot fly direct from the UK to Croatia, if you can get to Budapest or Vienna (Easyjet /Sky Europe, etc) then can then connect to Dubrovnik, Split or Zadar. This is probably the cheapest year round flight option to airports in the south of Croatia.

Ireland to Croatia Flights
Concorde Travel (Dublin) operates weekly flights from Ireland to Croatia ( Dubrovnik, Split & Trieste) from March to November. Seat only prices start from €299 plus €25 tax for 7 or 14 nights.
