Vrsar - a beautiful tourist village on the west coast of Istria, 3km on the north from Lim’s bay. Chief occupations include agriculture, farming, viniculture, fishing and tourism. Vrsar is known as a tourist centre with hotels, beautiful clean beaches and sports and recreation opportunities such as tennis, mini golf etc. One of the biggest nudist campgrounds in Europe, Koversada is located in Vrsar. In front of Vrsar is one of the most beautiful archipelagos with 18 unpopulated islets covered with Mediterranean plants. The town still has a Gothic look. Wild castle is located under the town, which is re-building. The church of St. Maria is another architectural memory. The harbour of Vrsar has 180 anchoring places, 80 of them for commercial use. Vrsar has a small sport airport as well. There are a lot of culture programs – concerts of classical music, folk festivals, Days of Koversad with the typical Miss Competition, etc. The house is recently renovated. There is a washing machine in the hall. The terrace at the back of the building and the roof terrace with its magnificent view to the marina and the town of Vrsar. The marina which is approx 5 min walk to the apartment, along steep and narrow street of the old town of Vrsar. There are several excellent restaurants in the town, as well as shops, a bank, tourist board, pharmacy, dentist, post office... Changeover day Usually Saturday, but negotiable. Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: Linen and towels included (not beach towels) with weekly repacement. More frequent laundry and cleaning available at extra cost. Accessibility The ground floor apartment is accessible to wheelchair users, but the first and second floor apartments involve climbing a number of steps. Outside: there is a samall back terrace with a barbecue and there is a roof terrace for sunbathing if too lazy to go to the beach. Coast/Beach Beautiful beaches are located in the various coves along the coast within a 10-15 minute walk. Most are rocky with swimming platforms which extend out into the sea, which is exceptionally clean. Laguna. Skiing The nearest well known ski resort is Platak near Rijeka, Sljeme near Zagreb and Kranska Gora in Slovenia, which is about 2.5 - 3 hours drive. Travel Car hire is essential. Ryanair operates Stansted - Pula (30 mins to the apartments) and Stansted - Trieste (1 hour 30 mins to the apartments). Easyjet operates Luton - Rijeka (1 hour 15 mins to apartments) and Stansted - Ljubljana (2 hours to apartments). Distances Porec is cca 10 km away. A short and scenic drive inland takes you to the pine forests and rolling hills topped with historic ancient towns such as Motovun, Grozjnan and Hum. A daily return fastcat ferry service (2 hours) runs from Porec harbour to Venice. Other places to visit: Hum (the smallest town in the world.) Baredine Caves, Limski fjord (taste the beautiful cheeses, olives, wines and Grappa). The Amphitheatre in Pula is an amazing, historical place to visit.
