This superb example of an open-plan villa makes Villa Marguerita the perfect escape from the stresses of modern life. Sitting above the village of Brna, halfway down the island of Korcula, panoramic views of the sparkling, crystal clear waters of the Adriatic from the spacious rooms and balconies of the villa make a unique setting for a holiday. The sea can be reached just 200 metres from the steps. Stone steps from the parking area lead up to the first floor with a comfortable dining room/lounge. Three sets of French doors lead onto a balcony. Furnished with wooden deck furniture and a swing seat, it provides a perfect place for outdoor meals. A shady terrace to the side of the villa provides extra seating for meals. The kitchen, with all modern equipment, a shower-room/toilet and a twin bedroom are also located on this floor. A wrought iron and wooden staircase leads to the second floor where there are three double bedrooms, two with en-suite bathrooms. There is a laundry room with washing machine off the main bathroom. The entire floor on this level is of natural pine. All windows are shuttered throughout the villa to keep out the midday sun. The balcony at the front has further sea views, whilst a back door leads out to a garden/terrace with table tennis, a BBQ and more deckchairs. The village of Brna has grocery stores, a vegetable stall, a pizzeria and several restaurants. There is also a hotel within 5 minutes walk that has a restaurant and facilities for sailing, hiring bikes and tennis courts. Further restaurants and konobas, specialising in Dalmatian cuisine abound in the villages around Brna. Fresh fish can be bought daily as two trawlers are based here. Excursions can be arranged to Dubrovnik, Mostar and the island of Mjlet, a national park. In the season folklore troupes perform the Kumpanja at nearby Blato and Vela Luka. Note: It is possible to access Brna from Dubrovnik airport, but the quickest way to get there is to fly to Split (Easyjet)and take the catamaran. See www.jadrolinija.com Sleeps:
