Villa Mjesto overlooks the buzzing harbour in the delightful and ancient town of Stari Grad on Hvar Island. Completely renovated in 2006, Villa Mjesto is spacious, with four large bedrooms, three bathrooms/shower rooms, a large upstairs kitchen and smaller downstairs kitchen, and two lounges. It is a few paces from the harbour with a beautiful view over it and the old town. A pedestrianised quayside extends right around the harbour, making for delightful strolling and cycling. The town has a good selection of bars and restaurants. Villa Mjesto overlooks all of this, detached enough to have privacy and avoid noise, but an easy stroll away. Hvar Island is exceptionally beautiful and has many things to do. It is noted for its lush vegetation, pine woods, olive trees and various aromatic plants that perfume the crystal-clear unpolluted air. The water is crystal clear and beautiful for swimming in. There is a beach only a few minutes walk from the villa and others, including hidden coves, that you can walk or cycle to. It is easy to hire cycles, boats, cars and scooters. Hvar Town, only 20 minutes away, is the St Tropez of Croatia, a port of call for superyachts and celebrities. It is easy to get to Stari Grad via Split, a World Heritage City with a unique and very special old town built in the shell of the palace of the Roman emperor Diocletian. Another good option is to fly into Dubrovnik and back from Split. Airlines like British Airways and Germanwings serve both airports and you can, if you wish, do a one way car hire between the two.
