This beautiful traditional Istrian stone house comfortably sleeps 6 people (+ baby) in 3 well-furnished double bedrooms. The ground floor comprises a fully-self contained one bedroom apartment "House Leo II".

The house is situated in the village of Brtonigla, a friendly hill-top Istrian village offering outstanding views over the bay of Trieste. Brtonigla has a distinctive Italian feel due to its history and proximity to the Slovenian and Italian borders, indeed most local inhabitants can be heard conversing in Italian.

The accommodation in House Leo I is arranged over 3 floors. The fully equipped open-plan kitchen and dining room are on the first floor as is the comfortable lounge and a wc/shower-room. On the second floor there are 2 double bedrooms, one with doors opening to a balcony perfect for enjoying the spectacular view of the sunset over the sea, and a further wc/shower-room. The third floor has the master bedroom with wonderful original restored wooden beamed ceiling and ensuite shower room. All rooms are fully air conditioned.

House Leo has been awarded an official Four Star rental categorisation by the Croatian authorities.

Theres is the possiblity of accommodating 2 additional guests in a self contained studio apartment on the ground floor - House Leo II. The apartment has a comfortable double bedroom with large double bed, shower and wc. There is a fully equipped kitchen and dining/lounge area suitable for 2 people. The apartment is sheltered from the sun by traditional wooden shuttters and is therefore not air conditioned. However electric fans are provided in the bedroom.

Outside there is a small paved terrace at the rear of the house.

Parking is available in the village square just to the front of the house.

There are many wonderful restaurants just a short walk from the house offering delicious local food and wine. Brtonigla is in the centre of the wine producing region of Istria so there is ample choice of great, affordable local wines on offer.

Brtonigla has all the necessary amenities within walking distance of House Leo including 2 local supermarkets, tourist office,post office, bank, butchers, bars, “konobas” (local restaurants), a bakery for delicious fresh breakfasts and even a hairdressers.

For beach lovers the beautiful unspoilt beach at Karigador is just 5km away. For those looking for more entertainment the Lanterna beach resort with water sports, childrens play areas, mini golf, spa facilities, etc is located cca 10km from Brtonigla on the way to the large tourist resort of Porec. The tourist resorts of Umag and Novigrad are within 10-15 minutes drive.

There are various options available from UK and Irish airports including Ryanair, Easyjet, Aer Lingus, Croatia Airlines, Thomson Air, etc.

To fully appreciate the area of Istria car hire is highly recommended.

Airport transfers can be provided in a comfortable 7 seater vehicle at an additional cost. Please enquire for further details.


Booking details…

Preferred changeover day is Saturday, but out of season this can be flexible.

We would kindly ask guests to arrive at 2pm at the earliest on day of arrival and to depart by 10am on the final day to allow time for cleaning of the property.

A non-refundable deposit of 30% is required at the time of booking.

Bank details for payment transfers will be provided. Unfortunately we do not have facilities for credit card payments but paypal may be acceptable – please enquire at time of booking.

The balance of the rental payment must be paid not less than 6 weeks prior to arrival.

Please note rental rates are subject to change. Special offers may be available. Rental charge is fixed at rate quoted at time of reservation.

A security deposit of £200 is required at the time of booking to be held against any damage caused to the property or its contents.

We would recommend that you arrange your own cancellation and travel insurance.

Visitors Feedback: We were lucky enough to stay at House Leo during the San Rocco festival in August 2007. The atmosphere in the village was amazing. The house itself is superbly located to enjoy the village of Brtonigla (and its fantastic restaurants!)as well as the towns and beaches of Umag and Novigrad only a short distance. We found the standard of accommodation excellent, the house was well equipped with everything from kitchen equipment to a widescreen TV. We will definitely be going back....
